From reviewed files to a public address

How do you publish an HTML website? Put your finished project on your own domain so customers can visit it.

When the design is finished, ask your AI agent to publish it to a host such as Cloudflare Pages or Vercel. With access to the project, terminal and your authorized hosting account, it can handle the supported deployment commands. You then check the real public address and connect your domain.

Sample designs · replace the fictional content with your own.

AI ChatWorkflow example
Cloudflare Pages · from folder to online
You

My website is finished. Publish this project folder to Cloudflare Pages with Wrangler. Tell me what account access and permission you need first.

AI · example response

I will check the site files and image paths. You will need to sign in to your Cloudflare account and approve creating or updating the Pages project before I upload.

You

I approve publishing to a new Pages project. Keep my current domain unchanged until I have checked the preview.

AI · example response

After the authorized upload, I will return the address Cloudflare provides and check images and links there. We can connect your domain after you approve the preview.

Steps to take

  1. Give the agent your project

Use a file-capable AI agent with terminal access and keep index.html and assets together.

  2. Authorize the upload

Sign in to the host and approve the specific project. The agent can run its supported CLI or API.

  3. Check the real address

Open the returned URL; connect the custom domain only after checking the website.

Result to aim for: your website at a public address, then under your own domain.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

01 / Publication files

How do I publish the website I have finished with AI?

The simplest route is to ask the same file-capable AI agent to deploy the finished folder to Cloudflare Pages, Vercel or another suitable host. It needs terminal or API access, a hosting account you can authorize and your permission for the upload. You do not need to type the deployment code yourself.

Website files + design instructions

Ask your agent to publish

Tell it the host, give it the complete project folder and approve account access and the specific upload.

Or ask for help with a ZIP

Ask your hosting support whether they can help upload a ZIP of your site, or give it to a trusted developer or IT contact. Preserve the folder structure.

What the original instructions specify

11-forma-studio/RECREATE.md · L5

The guide describes the original fictional page. Keep its role separate from the changes you want for your own business.

Build an English single-page fictional design studio in `index.html`, with inline CSS and plain inline JavaScript at the end of its body. No framework, build step, module loader or external JavaScript dependency is needed. Supply `assets/terra.webp`, `assets/index.webp` and `assets/vesper.webp` alongside it, using the supplied image files unchanged. These files are identical copies of the corresponding fixed remote images in §9. If the local copies are not included with these instructions, obtain their exact bytes from the corresponding §9 URLs and save them at these three local paths without conversion or regeneration. The rendered page uses the remote image URLs; the local copies are not an automatic offline fallback. Runtime is **network**: images and Google Fonts need internet access. Do not call the result offline self-contained.

The inspected HTML still points to remote images and fonts. Uploading the HTML is not an offline guarantee. Keep the guide in your working folder and check each rendered resource on the final address.

Cloudflare Pages · Direct Upload ↗ Vercel · Deployments ↗

AI ChatWorkflow example
Choose a host for this project
You

Can this HTML project run on Cloudflare Pages or Vercel? Check the files and explain the upload options before I choose.

AI · example response

I will inspect whether it is a plain static site or needs a build or backend. For a static folder, Cloudflare offers Wrangler or dashboard upload; Vercel has a supported CLI deployment route. We will check the selected plan and limits.

You

Use Cloudflare for this site. Show me how to authorize the account and upload before changing anything.

Steps to take

  1. Inspect the project

Identify static files and any build or service requirements.

  2. Compare supported uploads

Choose a documented CLI, API or dashboard route for that host.

  3. Authorize your account

Confirm the plan and project before uploading.

Result to aim for: a hosting choice suited to your actual website files.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

02 / Choose hosting

Where can I host these website files?

For a plain HTML website, Cloudflare Pages and Vercel are examples of hosting options; many conventional hosts can serve HTML too. Your agent can use the provider’s supported CLI or API. Cloudflare also accepts a ZIP or folder through its dashboard; Wrangler uploads an unzipped folder. Check the selected plan and any service the page needs.

Account and project

Create or use your own hosting account. Ask the agent to explain any plan or project choice before proceeding.

Keep the files together

Publish index.html and its required local resources with the same paths. Test any remotely loaded images or fonts.

AI ChatWorkflow example
Check the host-provided public preview
You

After the upload, give me the real preview URL returned by the host. Check it outside the local project folder.

AI · example response

I will open the returned address and check image loading, navigation and contact destinations. We will use a preview deployment while you review the page.

You

Keep my old website unchanged. I will check this URL on my phone before approving the domain switch.

Steps to take

  1. Use the returned URL

Get the address from the actual deployment result.

  2. Test online resources

Open it in another browser session and check images and links.

  3. Approve the website

Review on your phone before replacing the live domain.

Result to aim for: a reviewed version you can continue editing or publish.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

03 / Stage first

How do I know the deployed files render correctly?

Ask the agent to return the address the host actually created. Open it in a browser and on your phone; check images, navigation and contact links. Use a preview deployment for review before replacing an existing live website.

  1. 01

    Deploy the reviewed version

Upload or deploy according to the selected host’s instructions.

  2. 02

    Open from another session

Verify public access, assets, navigation and screen sizes outside your local folder.

AI ChatWorkflow example
Connect your own domain
You

The preview works. Connect the domain I own to this project. Show the required changes before updating DNS.

AI · example response

I will inspect the host and DNS settings, add the domain to the project and propose the exact DNS changes. I need authorized access to both accounts.

You

Keep my email records. Ask me to approve any change that would replace the existing website.

AI · example response

I will preserve unrelated records, apply only approved changes and check the domain and HTTPS when the provider reports them ready.

Steps to take

  1. Confirm the domain

You need access to the account managing the domain or its DNS.

  2. Connect it to the project

Add the domain at the host and use the actual values it supplies.

  3. Check HTTPS and links

Open your own domain and test the pages and contact.

Result to aim for: visitors reach the new website using your business domain.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

04 / Domain and HTTPS

What changes when I use my own address?

Add your domain to the hosting project and connect it using the DNS settings the provider specifies. Ask your agent to guide or perform those steps with authorized access to the host and domain account. Review changes first, preserve email records and check your domain with HTTPS once it is ready.

AI ChatWorkflow example
Verify a received enquiry
You

Send a clearly labelled test enquiry from the published website. I will check the receiving inbox or form service.

AI · example response

I will use the public form and check its response. We will confirm delivery separately in the receiving destination, not from the success message alone.

You

If it does not arrive, check the request, service notifications and spam folder before calling it ready.

Steps to take

  1. Send from the public page

Use the actual visitor form with labelled test content.

  2. Check the receiving destination

Verify the message in the inbox or service account.

  3. Resolve any failure

Ask the agent to fix the connection and repeat the same test.

Result to aim for: an enquiry reaches your chosen destination.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

05 / Visitor checks

What must work on the final address?

Test the journey a visitor will take: read, navigate and complete the real next action. A form success label is not proof that an enquiry reached you.

AI ChatWorkflow example
Update the same published website
You

Add this new service to my saved website folder. Save the current version first and prepare an update for the same hosting project.

AI · example response

I will edit the saved files and show the preview. After you approve it, I can deploy to the existing project using authorized account access. The previous saved version remains available to restore.

You

I approve the new service. Publish this version and check it at my current domain.

Steps to take

  1. Edit the saved folder

Use the files that match the current published version.

  2. Save and preview

Keep a previous version and approve the updated preview.

  3. Publish to the same project

Ask the agent for an authorized update and check the existing domain.

Result to aim for: the new content is live, with the previous files retained.
Illustrative workflow. No live AI connection.

06 / Update and restore

How do I keep a way to update or restore?

Keep a copy of the published files and the host’s project details. To update the site, reopen that folder in your AI tool, describe the changes and ask for a new deployment to the same project. Save the previous version before uploading so you can restore it if necessary.

  1. 01

    Keep the accepted build

Store an independent copy of the exact source you published and record the corresponding deployment version.

  2. 02

    Repeat affected checks

Recheck the public action and changed sections after every deployment.

Prepare your publication checklist

Keep the project details for the next time you ask AI to publish an update.

Write your own facts. Copy or export this local plan; nothing is sent and it does not configure an AI tool or publish a website.
